Prep
For this brew, you’re going to need 6 ingredients, 7 minutes, and 1 other person to drink with – although you can help yourself if you’d prefer.
We recommend 3 teaspoons of either Earl Grey or Ceylon tea, or three teabags of each – choose your preference. Everything else should be easy enough to get hold of: water, milk and granulated sugar. If you want a little extra, a sugar cube or lemon slice can be great additions for some added flavour.
Instructions
For the best quality water, start with freshly drawn cold water, and make sure your kettle is de-scaled. Maybe give the teapot a scrub if it’s been a while since you used it, and make sure to warm it with some hot water – pour it away once the pot is warm.
Add either a tea bag or teaspoon of tea per cup, and another for the pot. Then, add some freshly-boiled water. It’s vital for the water to be boiling when added to the tea, as this is what really draws out the flavour.
Next, simply leave the tea to stand for 3-5 minutes, then stir and, finally, serve. This is where your preferences come in, with a splash of milk, a sugar cube, or a lemon slice to flavour your tea accordingly.
Now, you can enjoy your freshly brewed tea! If you’re happy with the first brew, try increasing the ingredients to accommodate more guests, or try some extra flavourings.
